Class Three

Class 3 is a large and welcoming classroom. In our class we have children in Year 2 and Year 3. Everyone in there works hard to make it a friendly environment and the children also work hard to be good friends and do their best learning. The adults who work in Class 3 are: Mrs Mariner (morning teaching assistant), Mrs Spratt (afternoon teaching assistant), Mrs Noble (additional teaching assistant on Wednesdays) and myself (class teacher).

In Class 3 we look to provide the children with a wide range of creative learning opportunities where we can experience real-life challenges and hands-on activities. We really enjoy participating in cross-curricular learning where interaction between different subjects can be encouraged. This year some of our learning includes;

  • Looking at seasons, materials, animals, living things and their habitats. (Science)
  • Asking questions such as; What makes London our capital city? Can you grow coconuts in Scotland? (Geography)
  • Was the Great Fire of London a good thing? What did Mary Seacole do for Nursing? Telephone: useful or useless? (History)

I love teaching in Class 3 and am always amazed at how much the children grow up during the time they spend in there. When I am not teaching though, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going for long walks, reading and baking.
